Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, upkeep, and improvement of all production equipment and utilities within a foundry consumables manufacturing unit specializing in riser sleeves and ceramic foam filters. The role involves mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance, supporting continuous production, achieving safety standards, and reducing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment used in :
Riser sleeve production (mixers, batching systems, molding presses, kilns/furnaces)
Ceramic foam filter manufacturing (slurry preparation, cutting machinery, drying ovens, sintering furnaces)
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic breakdowns.
Maintain and service refractory processing equipment and thermal systems.
2. Utilities & Facility Maintenance
Inspect and maintain plant utilities including compressors, blowers, pumps, and dust-collection systems.
Ensure proper functioning of burners, heating elements, temperature controllers, and thermocouples.
Monitor HVAC systems, electrical panels, and facility lighting.
3. Continuous Improvement
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated failures.
Support projects on energy efficiency, process optimization, and equipment upgrades.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve machine reliability.
Skills & Qualifications + Education & Experience
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in maintenance within manufacturing; foundry/ceramics industry preferred.
Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, conveyors, drives).
Working knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC basics, sensors, and instrumentation.
Experience with kilns/furnaces, burners, temperature control systems, and refractory materials.
Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Familiarity with CMMS tools and maintenance documentation.
Physically fit to lift tools/equipment as required.
Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.
